When we are working on ourselves, we can keep working and peal the energy away like the layers of an onion. But to do that to someone else is really stepping over the bounds of friendship. Example. You are dieting and someone puts a dilicious looking pastry in front of you. You might have to keep telling yourself. "Don't eat that." "You are dieting. You don't want to eat that." "DON'T EAT IT!" This line of thinking will help you to walk away without eating it. But what if your husband said. "Don't eat that." "You are dieting, You don't want to eat that! "DONT EAT IT!" Perhaps you might be grateful for the well intended advice... Or, you might give him the finger and eat the pastry while giving him the finger!
